We are sorry to announce that, due to the severe weather that has been forecast for this weekend, we have decided to cancel WinterFest. The forecast has been getting worse and worse over the week, and it now seems very unlikely that road conditions on Saturday will allow us to hold the event. Canceling the event - while unfortunate - is the best way to ensure the safety of our patrons, entertainers, staff and volunteers.
There are currently no plans to reschedule WinterFest for 2010, as nearly all the weekends between now and the Maryland Faerie Festival on May 15 & May 16 are already filled up with other events. Please continue to watch this website and www.marylandfaeriefestival.org for information about WinterFest 2011.
Although it is not a top priority, one of the goals with WinterFest is to help the Maryland Faerie Festival raise some of the advanced funding required to hold the Festival each May. Even so, it has been our goal to keep the costs and admission fees as low as possible so we can present an event that is both fun and affordable. Unfortunately, when an event is cancelled with only a few days notice there are some unavoidable expenses.
For this reason, we are asking all WinterFest ticket holders to consider participating in our new Friends Of The Fae patron program. In this program, any person who donates $50 will receive:
•
2010 Maryland Faerie Festival t-shirt
•
two adult passes for our event on May 15th & 16th
•
one parking pass
•
and a special Friends Of The Fae badge and lanyard
We would like to offer all WinterFest ticket holders the opportunity to participate in our Friends Of The Fae program – we will consider your ticket purchase (whether at the $50 door price or the $45 pre-sale price) as payment in full to become a member of the Friends Of The Fae.
If you are not interested in this patron program, but would like to help us offset our costs, we will gratefully accept all or part of your ticket fee as a donation and, as a 501c3 organization, we will provide you with a letter of thanks with all the information you will need to write off the donation on your income taxes.
If you would like a refund (and, given the current economy, we understand completely), please let us know and we will issue a refund in-full.
A member of our staff will be contacting you regarding these matters. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work through this unexpected turn of events. If you still have any questions, please feel free to direct them to info@mdff-winterfest.org
Many Thanks and Blessings,
WinterFest 2010 Staff
